US President Biden announced the launch of a new program of temporary emigration “Uniting for Ukraine” to help Ukrainian refugees . Earlier, the United States announced its readiness to accept up to 100,000 people in the country, and now a mechanism for the entry of refugees has been developed, according to the Voice of America.

This will be the safest and most effective way to obtain temporary asylum and temporary status in the United States.

The US authorities are also asking Ukrainian refugees not to travel to Mexico to enter the United States. who will try to enter the United States without prior permission to enter under this program or without a visa. They will be invited to apply for this program.

Unity for Ukraine is an optimized application process for Ukrainian citizens displaced by Russian aggression to obtain temporary status in the United States. To be eligible for this program, Ukrainian refugees had to reside in Ukraine as of February 11, 2022, have a financial sponsor in the United States, confirm the necessary vaccinations, and undergo rigorous biometric and biographical screening and security screening.

Those who meet these requirements will be issued a permit to enter the United States and a temporary status for up to 2 years, which will entitle them to work in the country. The term of the interim status will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

On April 25, the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will launch a special website for the Unity for Ukraine program.

Both individuals and legal entities in the United States, as well as non-governmental organizations, can become financial sponsors of Ukrainian refugees under this program. All those who want to sponsor the citizens of Ukraine will have to apply on the website “Unity for Ukraine” and pass a security check to protect Ukrainian refugees from exploitation and abuse. The Department of Homeland Security will administer the program.

The U.S. government is currently working with European partners to ensure that Ukrainian citizens can meet the vaccination requirements under the program.
