< State police have donated personal protective equipment: hundreds of armor and tactical vests, according to Russia's Voice of America. Today's aid, how much cargo on 127 pallets is a whole cargo plane. "

Baltimore has been a sister city of Odessa since 1975. After talking with the mayor of Odessa, Larry Hogan, the governor of Maryland, decided on the need for emergency assistance to Ukraine.

We're shipping $ 5 million worth of equipment. In our conversation, the mayor of Odessa said that they really need medical supplies. Of course, we want to help other Ukrainian territories where such equipment is needed and where it will be used, “said Larry Hogan.

Borys Levonenko, one of the members of United Help Ukraine, which has been helping Ukraine since 2014, is currently shipping. A native of Kharkiv, he prefers to speak Russian and is still unable to contain his emotions by talking about what the Russian army is doing at his home.

“At 4:45 am, there were claps, explosions, and noise in Kharkiv. Gul left the cannonade. That night I could not sleep, I was in touch with them. Well, my family is not there, there are a lot of friends and relatives of the wife, we communicate constantly and watch, but many have already left the city, because it is impossible to be there, “- recalls with tears in his eyes Boris Levonenko, a member of United Help Ukraine.

According to Borys, by the end of the week medical equipment and personal protective equipment will arrive in Lviv, and from there to hospitals and emergency services in Ukraine.

El Romanoski, coordinator of the Preparedness and Response Office, personally selected the equipment to be sent to Ukraine: “This is a full-fledged artificial respiration device suitable for children and adults. It can work in different conditions, for example, when the chest, lungs, heart are damaged. People who have survived bomb blasts often need such breathing apparatus. We chose these portable, small ventilators because they are universal, can be used in difficult conditions where there is a threat to the lives of rescuers themselves, these devices are well suited for such purposes. They can also be used in a hospital setting, but intensive care physicians usually prefer large standard respirators, but both models are equivalent in function. This ventilator is more similar to those in hospitals and intensive care units. We are sending 95 such devices to Ukrainian medical facilities. ” , and it is important to support them in this fight as much as possible.

“Immediately after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, we broke off 30 years of twinning relations between Maryland and Leningrad Oblast. I have ordered all government agencies to immediately review and terminate any contracts, purchases and relations with Russian organizations, “said the Governor of Maryland.
