The State News Agency of North Korea (CTAC) reported the country's first death from COVID-19. AP writes about it.

A few days ago in North Korea, there was an official report from the CTAC about the so-called “fever” among the local population. Subsequently, an uncertain diagnosis was confirmed in 350 thousand people. On May 12, 18,000 people showed symptoms of the infection. According to the state agency, 162,200 people recovered from the sudden illness and 6 died. Among them was one person with the coronavirus strain Omicron.

The CTAC notes that more than 187,000 people are currently undergoing self-isolation treatment.
