The Pentagon is considering the transfer of American fighter jets to Ukraine

This takes time, as Ukrainian pilots must learn to use them, as well as maintain them

National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said the Pentagon is studying the feasibility of providing fighter jets to Ukraine, although these efforts are in the very early stages. This is reported by Bloomberg.

The Pentagon's efforts, which Kirby said, are focused on the supply of American aircraft, not ex-Soviet jets. Therefore, Ukrainian pilots must undergo training on these fighters, as well as maintain them.

With that in mind, Kirby added, “So it's not something that's going to happen anytime soon.”

The words of the spokesman of the National Security Council were confirmed by the correspondent of the Pentagon's foreign policy department, Lara Seligman, on her Twitter.

“The Ministry of Defense is conducting “some preliminary studies” regarding the potential supply of fighter jets to Ukraine, says Kirby. But this will not happen soon, given how difficult their operation and maintenance are. Confirms what the US Air Force has been hinting at for the past few days,” wrote Lara Seligman.
