The chairman of the House Armed Services Committee said how many HIMARS the U.S. military could get

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi held a meeting with the delegation of the House of Representatives of the United States of America, led by the chairman of the Committee on Armed Forces Affairs, Adam Smith.

Chairman of the Armed Forces Committee of the US House of Representatives Adam Smith in an exclusive interview with Radio Svoboda, he told how many more HIMARS installations and other salvo missile systems the United States and its allies will be able to provide to Ukraine.

“We are ready to provide Ukraine with as many HIMARS instructions , as much as we can. It is not a fact that we have 50 such installations in our arsenal. In my opinion, the goal now is to reach the number of 25-30 rocket launchers of salvo fire. It will be a combination of HIMARS and several MLRS systems from the UK and other (countries – ed.). We will try to provide as much as we can. But 50 or 60 installations will be difficult to collect and provide,” Smith said.

Previously, Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov stated that 50 HIMARS installations and missile systems are now needed for the defense of Ukraine M270, and 100 such systems for the attack.

Currently, 12 American-made HIMARS long-range artillery systems and a certain number of M270 MLRS have already been delivered to Ukraine. In the new package of military aid to Ukraine, the USA announced the delivery of four more HIMARS installations.

Adam Smith led the delegation of congressmen of the House of Representatives of the United States Congress, which was approved by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi in Kyiv on July 23.
