The expert spoke about the trends in the fuel market two weeks after the abolition of state regulation

The number of fuel suppliers has almost doubled.

As of May 30, fuel prices in Ukraine have set at UAH 52-55 for gasoline, UAH 58-60 for diesel, the market is showing trends that allow us to expect normalization by July. This was announced at a briefing by the director of the consulting group “A-95” Serhiy Kuyun.

in early May it was about 30 companies, yesterday it was 66 declarants. This shows the activation of the market, “- said Kuyun.

“This means that many companies have started to import (fuel – ed.) on their own. This is the effect we expected when we refused from state regulation “, – added Kuyun.

At the same time, the situation with filling the market with gasoline is lagging behind expectations. Kuyun explains this by saying that the European market is focused on the import of scarce diesel, and the market for gasoline was even in surplus. Currently, the plants close Europe's domestic demand for gasoline and do not have excess volumes for exports to other regions.

consignments of fuel arrived even from Belgium.

In addition, Kuyun commented on the issue of fuel prices.

“Yes, we will now have a high price. At the level of 52-55 UAH for gasoline, 58-60 UAH for diesel, the market feels normal. We see that the queues are decreasing, that is, somewhere the market has already” felt “this point of equilibrium,” he said. he.

The expert expects that filling the market with new batches of fuel will reduce prices to objective levels.

We will remind, networks of gas stations began to conclude the first agreements on fuel supply , the price of which was no longer limited to state regulation, from May 18.

At that time, in a small group, prices were offered at the following level:

As of May 17, the maximum price for” regular “gasoline for its sale through the gas station network (including marginal trade margins) should not have been exceed UAH 39.86/liter, for “ordinary” diesel – UAH 42.31/liter.

Cabinet Resolution provided for a maximum retail markup of 6.5 hryvnias for gasoline and 7 hryvnias for diesel fuel.

At the same time, premium fuel brands could be sold with a 5% surcharge: gasoline A-95 – 41.85 hryvnias/l, diesel – for 44.42 UAH/l

In the evening, May 17, in Ukraine suspended state regulation of prices for fuel to avoid shortages in wartime.
