Exchange rate: how prices have changed in banks and on the “black market”

The exchange rate in banks and on the “black market” is not much different.

According to the official exchange rate of the National Bank on May 31 hryvnia against the euro fell by 18 kopecks to 31.50 UAH/euro. As for the dollar, the national currency remains at the same level and costs UAH 29.25/dollar. This is stated in the NBU.

Banks

As for the exchange rate in Ukrainian banks, according to the specialized website of the Ministry of Finance, as of this morning, the average euro exchange rate was: purchase – 37 , 50 UAH/EUR, sale – 38.85 UAH/EUR. Average dollar exchange rate: purchase – 35.40 UAH/dollar, sale – 36.50 UAH/dollar.

Black market

Regarding the “black market”, at present (10 : 00 in Kyiv), according to the website Exchange rate of Ukraine, the average buying rate of the euro is 38.17 UAH/EUR, selling – 38.61 UAH/EUR. The average rate of buying the dollar – 35.75 UAH/EUR, selling – 36.00 UAH/EUR.

It will be recalled that the NBU reacted to the sharp rise in the dollar's cash exchange rate due to the so-called “card tourism”, lifted a number of restrictions and thus allowed banks to actually return to the foreign exchange market. span>
