The EU is discussing the issue of recognizing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization

The United States has previously included the KIR in the list of terrorist organizations.

Germany and the European Union are studying the possibility of recognizing the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps by a terrorist organization. This was stated by the head of the German Foreign Ministry, Annalena Burbock, on Sunday, the Voice of America reports. The German minister's statement came after as the head of the IRGC warned Iranian protesters that Saturday would be the last day they would be able to take to the streets, hinting that security forces could step up an already tough crackdown on those taking part in the massive protests.

Last week, Germany said on strengthening restrictions against Iran in addition to the announced package of EU sanctions.

Burbok also stated that negotiations on an agreement on Iran's nuclear program between Tehran and the West are not currently underway.

The US has already added the KIR to the terrorist list organizations.

On Saturday in Shiraz the head of the Revolutionary Guard, General Hossein Salami, appealed to Iranians to stop the protests. “Today is the end of the riots. Do not go out again! – said Salami to the people who crowded around the shrouded victims of the terrorist attack in Shiraz. – We say to our youth who have been deceived: stop the crime.”

He added in the same harsh tone: “This ominous turmoil will not bring you a happy ending. Don't ruin your future!”
