The dead Zhirynovsky and the living sister of the oligarch Usmanov disappeared from the EU sanctions list

The reasons for the removal of Usmanov's sister are not disclosed.

One of the sisters of the oligarch and former shareholder of the football club Alisher Usmanov's “Arsenal” – Saodat Narzieva – were excluded from the EU sanctions list, which was drawn up in response to Russia's initiation of a full-scale war in Ukraine. Usmanov himself remained on the list. The Guardian writes about it.

In addition, this week the EU excluded from the sanctions list the deceased leader of the LDPR Vladimir Zhirinovsky and Olga Ayziman, the former wife of banker Mikhail Fridman. Usmanov's sister Saodat Narzieva was added to the sanctions list along with relatives of other Russian officials and oligarchs in April. p>

Usmanov, as well as another sister of oligarch Gulbakhor Ismailova, filed separate appeals in an attempt to overturn sanctions that prohibited them from traveling within the EU and using assets located in member states. They are tried to prove that they did not support Russia's war against Ukraine, and demanded to pay them $20,000 to cover expenses.

The reasons for excluding Narziyeva from the sanctions list are unknown.

“We from from the very beginning it was said that the sanctions against Saodat Narzieva were based on false accusations, which have now been convincingly and unequivocally refuted. We welcome the EU Council's decision to exclude Ms. Narzieva from the sanctions list,” representatives of the oligarch's sister told The Guardian.

The fortune of the 68-year-old pro-Kremlin oligarch Alisher Usmanov is estimated at 19.5 billion dollars. He runs a steel and mining business and has close ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
