The Chancellor of Germany called on Putin to end the war in Ukraine

Negotiations between Scholz and Putin lasted one and a half hours.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in a telephone conversation on Tuesday called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to find a diplomatic solution to the conflict in Ukraine based on a ceasefire and the complete withdrawal of Russian troops as soon as possible. This was stated by a representative of the German government, Reuters reports.

It is noted that Scholz's conversation with Putin lasted one and a half hours and related to the war in Ukraine.

Sholz also stated that “any further Russia's annexation steps will not go unanswered” and emphasized the need to ensure the safety of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.

“A 90-minute phone conversation with Putin: Russia must withdraw its troops from Ukraine and recognize sovereignty and territorial integrity. Otherwise, a diplomatic solution is unthinkable,” Chancellor Scholz said.
