Blinken: The success of the counteroffensive is the result of the courage and resilience of the Armed Forces

Blinken named the main motivation of Ukrainians in the struggle.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken commented on the events on the battlefields in Ukraine in the context of the end of the war.

According to him, the USA and its allies played their role on the eve of the counteroffensive, but the successes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the northeast of Ukraine are primarily the result of the extraordinary courage of Ukrainians.

“We are observing significant progress of Ukrainians, especially in the northeast, and this is the result, as I said, of our support, but, above all, this is the result of extraordinary courage and resilience of Ukrainians. Armed forces and the Ukrainian people. This is the biggest difference. And, as I already managed to say, fundamentally Ukraine is fighting for its Motherland, for its future. The Russians there are not. Ukraine is not theirs. Ukraine does not belong to Russia. It belongs to the Ukrainian people, and that's the biggest factor that I think we're seeing right now, but I think what's encouraging is the progress that Ukraine has made, and what I've said to President Zelensky on behalf of the United States, and what's going on confirm many other countries, is that we will continue to do what is necessary to support Ukraine, to put pressure on Russia to stop its aggression,” the Secretary of State said at a press conference in Mexico, reports the State Department.

< p>Blinken also emphasized that Russia's aggression is not only aimed at Ukraine, it has affected the whole world.

“We have seen that this aggression on the part of Russia is an attempt to erase the existence of Ukraine as an independent, sovereign state , has also created huge problems in almost every corner of the world, not only in Ukraine, not only in Europe, but in the whole world. We also see it in higher food prices, in higher energy prices, we also see it in Russia's encroachment on the very principles of the international system, which are necessary to maintain peace and security, which should be of interest to every country — the notion that sovereignty matters, territorial integrity matters, independence matters, and I think that what what you see in countries around the world is a strong desire for this aggression to stop and for the second and third order consequences to be reduced as a result. This is also very important,” Blinken stressed.
