Sweden will try to resolve differences with Turkey over NATO, the Swedish Foreign Minister

According to Ann Linde, Sweden will continue its dialogue with Turkey.

Stockholm and Ankara will resolve their differences due to the possible Sweden's accession to the North Atlantic Alliance , said Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde. According to her, the two countries will continue mutually beneficial bilateral relations.

“We will continue the dialogue with Turkey and try to resolve all existing misunderstandings,” said the Swedish Foreign Minister.

According to her, the Swedish The government plans to normalize relations with Turkey through bilateral dialogue in the near future.

It will be recalled that the Swedish government intends to formally apply for NATO accession on Tuesday 17 May. This became known after the President of Finland Sauli Niinisto officially announced his country's intentions to become a member of the Alliance .

It was reported that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan may block Finland and Sweden from joining NATO .

Following the news, Erdogan's spokesman and adviser said that the country is not closing the doors of Sweden and Finland to join NATO , but wants negotiations with the Scandinavian countries.
