In Poland, there was talk of the demilitarization of Kaliningrad: local authorities responded

Officer Sheremetev believes that this city may become a “significant problem” in the future.

If Sweden and Finland join NATO , the city of Kaliningrad will need to be demilitarized and renamed. Former Polish Deputy Defense Minister Romuald Sheremetyev, a former Polish defense minister, said in an interview with DoRzeczy.pl that he said there could be “significant problems” with the city in the future.

“We must, however, ask the people of Kaliningrad to stop calling themselves criminals [Mikhail] Kalinin, who is jointly and severally responsible for the Katyn killings. Secondly, the region must be demilitarized, because NATO cannot sit on a powder keg between its legs. This is probably understandable, “said the Polish official.

Sheremetev also believes that Poland will have a much stronger position on the eastern flank when the Alliance joins Sweden and Finland. .

The governor of the Kaliningrad region Anton Alikhanov commented on Sheremetev's proposal during a conversation with the propaganda media.

“Don't you care? We don't care here. Absolutely … There is a battle for the status of the main Russophobe to take a seat in the [government] party,” he said.
