Stoltenberg announced the date and place of the next NATO summit

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the next The Alliance summit will be held in Vilnius on July 11-12, 2023. This is stated in a message on the NATO website.

“I am happy to announce that the next meeting of NATO heads of state and government will take place in Vilnius on July 11-12, 2023. We are facing the most complex and unpredictable security environment since the Cold War. The meeting in Vilnius will provide an opportunity for the heads of state and government of the Alliance countries to agree on further steps to strengthen deterrence and defense, to consider a significant increase in defense spending, as well as to continue our support to Ukraine,” the NATO Secretary General said.

He added that in an era of growing strategic competition, the transatlantic link between Europe and North America in NATO continues to be important for security.

“I am grateful to Lithuania for hosting our summit. Lithuania is an important NATO ally. As a host country for a multinational battle group, Lithuania helps provide powerful deterrence and defense for the entire Alliance. I am looking forward to a successful summit in Vilnius in July 2023,” Stoltenberg noted.
