According to journalists, more than half of Americans consider Russia's use of a nuclear bomb in Ukraine as a “realistic” or “very realistic” scenario. To the question: “Do you think it is possible that Russian President Vladimir Putin could use a nuclear bomb in Ukraine?” 14% of respondents said it was “very realistic” and 44% said it was “realistic”.
A further 19% said the use of nuclear weapons is “neither realistic nor unrealistic” scenario, while only 12% of Americans described it as “unrealistic” or “very unrealistic”.
< p style="text-align: justify;">The Newsweek poll was conducted on October 23-24 and surveyed 1,500 “eligible voters in the United States.” It also found that 52% of Americans believe that Ukraine should seek to return all territories lost since February 2022 before seeking a peace deal with Russia.
Another 20% said Ukraine should return all territories lost since 2014, including the Crimean Peninsula, before making a deal with the Kremlin. In addition, 27% of respondents stated that they do not have a specific answer to this question.
