Mobilization in Ukraine: what does deregistration mean

Some men may be declared unfit for military service.

General mobilization continues in Ukraine< /strong> to martial law due to a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. Conscripted men between the ages of 18 and 60 are subject to military service.

During general mobilization, all conscripts must pass a medical examination after being drafted. It is the medical commission that determines the state of health and makes a conclusion – whether a person is fit for service or not. What are the categories of unfitness for military service

In Ukraine, the legislation establishes three categories of unfitness for military service:

  • limited fit;
  • unfit for military service in peacetime, but limitedly suitable in wartime;
  • unfit for military service, excluded from military registration.

Only a military officer has the right to make a conclusion about unfitness for military service medical commission (VLC).

What does exclusion from military registration mean

In Art. 23 of the Law of Ukraine “On Mobilization Training and Mobilization” lists the categories of persons who are not subject to conscription.

According to the law, military servicemen who are recognized as temporarily unfit for military service due to their health are not subject to mobilization. or completely unusable with exclusion from military registration.

Removal from military registration means that a person is completely unfit for service and is not subject to mobilization.

However, if a conscript is found to be unfit for service before the start of a full-scale war, he can be summoned again to the medical board and checked for health.

It is reported that during martial law, a list of diseases with which no are taken to the army, narrows significantly. Therefore, even if a person has a mark on his military ticket about exclusion from military registration, he can still be mobilized during martial law. Of course, this will depend on the conclusion of the VLK.

If the medical commission decides that a man can serve in military commissariats, institutions, organizations, educational institutions, then he will be mobilized. But a person will not be taken to the zone of active hostilities, but will be recognized as of limited fitness.
