Ukrainians will have access to health care, the labor market, education and some social benefits.
In Italy, Ukrainian refugees who have fled the country since the start of Russia's war against Ukraine will be granted a 12-month residence permit. The decree was signed by Prime Minister Mario Draghi on Wednesday, March 30, Euractiv reports.
“The document establishes a mechanism for temporary protection and assistance for refugees arriving from Ukraine,” the document reads.
Draghi noted that this would give Ukrainians who came to Italy access to health care, the labor market, education and some social benefits.
Italian visas will be issued by the Italian police.
In addition, the head of civil protection Fabrizio Curcio signed a contract with a special fund, which provides a monthly contribution of 300 euros for each refugee from Ukraine for a maximum of three months.
