Italy on the side of Ukraine: assets of Russian oligarchs worth 800 million euros have already been frozen

This morning, President Zelensky addressed the Italian Parliament in Montecitorio (a palace in central Rome). He reminded of the dead children and destroyed houses in Ukraine. Prime Minister Mario Draghi responded to the speech and promised support for Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees. This was reported by lastampa.it.

He stressed that the assets of Russian oligarchs close to Putin in the amount of 800 million euros have already been frozen in Italy and work in this direction continues.

“We want to help refugees not only find a home, but also find a job and integrate into society,” Draghi said.

Also, according to Draghi, Italy wants Ukraine to join the European Union.

In addition, Italy will focus to reduce “our dependence on Russia very quickly.”

It was reported that Zelensky addressed the Italian parliament for the second time. He thanked for the help with refugees and called for deepening sanctions against Russia.
