Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, Ukraine has spent $ 8.3 billion (UAH 245.1 billion) on military needs. This was reported by Reuters, citing Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko.
According to the source, part of the budget was originally planned to be used for development. However, in the new conditions they were needed for other purposes: for the purchase and repair of weapons, emergency assistance to internally displaced persons, social security of the regions most affected by the war, etc.
According to Serhiy Marchenko, in April Ukraine received only 60% of the planned taxes. It is expected that in May this figure will fall to 45-50%. The Minister stressed that the state urgently needs financial infusions from international organizations and partner countries, as the government is forced to constantly spend billions on emergency military needs.
