France continues to implement sanctions against Russian billionaires. Local authorities have confiscated three villas located in the south of the country, which belong to the oligarchs of Russia.

According to BFMTV, the state became the property, in particular, the estate of Oleg Deripaska. His villa is located between the municipalities of Saint-Tropez and Ramatuel. The “aluminum” oligarch and founder of Rusal acquired it in 2005. Despite the fact that Deripaska condemned the war in Ukraine in the early days of Russia's full-scale invasion, he failed to avoid international sanctions.

The property confiscated by the French authorities also includes the villa of Vladimir Putin's former son-in-law Kirill Shamalov. He heads the Alliance Energy Group, founded in 1998.
