On Saturday morning, the country began to consume more electricity than even on weekdays.
Ukrenergo updated the information on November 5 regarding power outages due to exceeding the limits. A warning about this was published on the social networks of the transmission system operator.
“Today, November 5, in the morning, the country consumes more electricity than on working days – Thursday and Friday. Because of this, unfortunately, the schedules of hourly outages is not enough to maintain the stable operation of the energy system,” the message says.
In this regard, the control center of NEC “Ukrenergo” was forced to provide operators of distribution networks (oblenergo) volumes to limit electricity supply to all categories of consumers in the city of Kyiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Kharkiv and Poltava regions.
The effect of previously established hourly shutdown schedules in these areas is temporarily suspended.
“Temporary controlled restrictions of all categories of consumers are necessary to reduce the load on networks, support sustainable balancing of the energy system and avoid repeated accidents. Dear Ukrainians, please do not abandon the habit of consciously treating electricity consumption. Especially during the hours of morning and evening peak consumption,” Ukrenergo emphasized.
