Graduates of polytechnic universities will rebuild the country after the war

They will have the most necessary knowledge.

After the war, three key to the country's revival sectors: defense, IT industry and agro-industry. And political universities that will work in relations with enterprises will be able to provide them with resources and personnel, says business analyst Maryna Kosenko in her article for ZN.UA “Ukraine will be rebuilt by polytechnics: what needs to be done”.

“Polytechnics traditionally know a lot – from computer science to heavy engineering for both the defense sector and peaceful purposes: the agricultural sector, food and light industry. For example, Kharkiv Polytechnic is not only interested in aviation in the most critical areas, however, in an ideal schedule there may be a tandem of HPI and Kharkiv Aviation University. This will be joined by civil engineering universities, “said the expert.

To do this, she said, universities need to develop a system to officially, quickly and legally accept contributions from business and manage their own funds.

“If the business deems it necessary to help the faculty and the department, it should have a fast and transparent mechanism to transfer equipment on which future engineers could study, or create an autonomous scholarship fund for talented students and teachers,” Kosyuk said. .

In the future of Ukraine, the profession of engineer should be no less prestigious than IT. But for this, local technology companies that are already involved or will be involved in the defense sector must be able to offer graduates conditions and salaries no worse than in IT.
