April 19 Christians of the Eastern rite celebrate Holy Tuesday – the second day of Holy Week , which ends with the feast of the Resurrection of Christ or Easter. On this day, believers remember the parable of the Pharisees and the parables that Jesus spoke in the Jerusalem temple.

What to do on Holy Tuesday
On this day, as during the whole Holy Week, believers remember the earthly way of Jesus Christ. It is also necessary to read the Gospel and pray.
On this day, flax and hemp seeds are usually collected in the villages and crushed in a mortar, and then mixed with water to make juicy milk. This milk is given to pets to protect them from disease. It is believed that if an animal refuses to drink milk, it is already sick or enchanted.
On Holy Tuesday it is customary to do good deeds and not refuse to help the needy.
It is advisable to finish washing and darning clothes on this day, as well as repair work in the house.
Easter eggs are being painted on Holy Tuesday. This activity was considered sacred, when painting eggs it is desirable to be alone with your thoughts, so that other people's energy does not interfere with the process.
What not to do on Holy Tuesday
Singing and dancing are not allowed on this day, as well as noisy festivities. Vulgar behavior is forbidden. This day should be spent with Easter in mind.
Lent should not be forgotten during the holiday, you should refrain from eating food of animal origin.
Signs of Good Tuesday
Wet weather – there will be a good harvest of mushrooms;
water spill – to a good hayfield and weeds;
if the bees flew out of the hives and friendly a swarm is circling over them, it will be early spring;
thunder – until clear and warm summer;
if lightning shines and thunder is not visible – summer will not be rainy;
If the sky is blue with clouds, expect warm but humid weather.
