“I have not understood such behavior for a long time. , especially now,” he said in a comment to RTL and n-tv channels.
Heil emphasized that Schröder's actions now have nothing to do with German politics or the Social Democratic Party.

Gerhard Schroeder, who headed the government of Germany from 1998 to 2005, is strongly criticized for his too close relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin and his work in Russian state-owned companies. The Bundestag believes that Germany's dependence on Russia was deliberately shaped by Chancellors Schröder and Merkel over the past 16-20 years.
Including because of this, at the end of May, Schröder was deprived of some privileges in Germany which he enjoyed as a former chancellor.
The next day, Schröder decided to resign from his position at Rosneft. and later declared that he would not accept the offer to join the board of directors of the Russian gas monopoly Gazprom. Despite everything, he is not going to stop communicating with Putin.
According to the German media, the SPD is considering the possible expulsion of Schröder from the party. The decision should be announced within the next three weeks.
