The men face a criminal case for desertion.
Five mobilized from Tomsk region, who command sent to the annexed Luhansk region in Ukraine, left their military unit and went to the forest. They have been hiding in the forest for more than two weeks, they last contacted their relatives on October 17. According to relatives, the men are threatened with criminal cases of desertion. The mother of one of the fugitives said that her son was mobilized on September 26 and promised that he would undergo a three-month training in the Omsk military unit. However, already on September 29, he and his comrades were transported to Rostov-on-Don, and a week later – to the Luhansk region.
In both military units, they were called “meat” and “minced meat”, and near Luhansk they were called sons were sent without food and ammunition.
In Luhansk region, according to the mother, those mobilized came under mortar fire and were forced to retreat, because they had no equipment – only automatic weapons.

According to her, there was no command on the battlefield either: the same mobilized sergeant, who did not understand, was appointed as the “chief” , What shall I do. So the Russian soldiers retreated to the forest.
Now, according to their mother, they live on their own: they made an awning out of tents, warm themselves by the fire during the day, and put it out at night.
Relatives and wives of the mobilized are in no hurry to fight for their release, instead they wrote a letter to the governor of Tomsk region, in which they ask to give the men “normal command”, because the existing one refuses to work with them, calling them deserters. The appeal has been accepted for consideration.
