From the point of view of technology, distance education provides to completely abandon the model of correspondence higher education “reading lectures in September – session in December – wasteland between September and December”, since the insufficient quality of correspondence education is well known, and at the state level it is necessary to legitimize the corresponding decision for all universities at the same time. “Along with correspondence education, thanks to online technologies, the activity of small university branches in different parts of Ukraine is losing its meaning, the main idea of which was to bring the place of higher education closer to the place of residence of the student, and the problem is doubts about the quality of education,” says the expert.
It is difficult to think of a closer place to acquire new knowledge than your personal computer, explains Nikolaev. In EDEB today, almost 200 such institutions of higher education (not counting professional colleges) are displayed, which are branches of larger universities.
