Expanding aid to Ukraine: the IMF's online mission has started

Consultations regarding the monitoring program are held online.

Online mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) headed by Gavin Gray, today, November 11, began discussions with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities regarding the Monitoring Program with the involvement of the IMF Board of Executive Directors (PMB). This was announced by the representative of the IMF in Ukraine, Vahram Stepanyan.

“The dialogue will be based on the results of the meetings held last month in Vienna. The work of the mission will take place online,” the message reads.

At the beginning of this week, the head of the National Bank of Ukraine Andriy Pyshny noted that the IMF mission is expected to last until November 17 and will formulate final agreements for the possibility of PMB approval by the Fund's Board of Directors in early December.

The NBU reported that Ukraine plans to receive $20 billion from the United States and the International Monetary Fund in 2023. “The final agreements will be formulated based on the results of the second mission, which will begin its work on November 11. We plan that it will last until November 17. These technical discussions… which will form the basis of the National Bank's action plan for the coming years and will become the basis for the program of expanded financing, which the Ukrainian team is counting on,” the head of the National Bank said.
