“A large number of institutions and organizations have undertaken to place refugees on their own territory, regular units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine and territorial defense, as well as to provide them on a volunteer basis hot food Therefore, it is necessary for the affected residents, as well as for the specified institutions, establishments and organizations of all forms of ownership during the period of martial law, to completely or partially cancel the payment for communal services provided by the city,” MP Andriy Vitrenko is quoted as saying.
The decision of the Kyiv City Council provides for the full or partial cancellation of utility payments for the maintenance of the residential area, the removal of solid household waste, cold water supply and drainage for the duration of the martial law:
- in 100% of the amount for persons who suffered as a result of Russian-Ukrainian war;
- to introduce a discount of 50% for institutions and organizations of any form of ownership, which place on their living spaces displaced persons from temporarily occupied or destroyed areas, personnel of territorial defense, the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine for the period of placement of such persons;
- introduce a 30% discount on all utility bills for socially vulnerable sections of the population of Kyiv;
- introduce a 50% discount for institutions and organizations of any form of ownership that are active in the sphere of public catering and provide hot meals (prepared meals) on a volunteer basis to unprotected sections of the population who have not left and are in Kyiv, personnel of the territorial defense or the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine.
