It is noted that in November 2019, PJSC “Centrenergo”, fulfilling the task of electricity production, concluded a contract for the supply of gas with a commercial company. Later, in May 2020, the energy generating enterprise made a prepayment for the contracted volume of gas for June 2020. However, the gas was not supplied for the full amount of the advance payment, and therefore the commercial company became indebted to PJSC “Centrenergo”.
In order to reduce the amount of debt owed to Centernergo PJSC, the employees of the commercial structure entered into a conspiracy with the officials and forged official documents, increasing the price of the gas actually delivered.
“As a result of such actions, the amount of debt obligations of the commercial structure to PJSC “Centerenergo” artificially decreased by an amount reaching more than 8 million hryvnias,” the prosecutor's office clarified. to one current and two former employees of Centerenergo PJSC, as well as to a representative of the commercial structure. Their actions are qualified according to the characteristics of the crime provided for in Part 2 of Art. 364 and Part 1 of Art. 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
