The Australian government has announced a decision to increase tariffs on imports of all products from Russia and Belarus by 35%. This is stated in a statement on the website of the Australian government.

“The Australian government is taking further steps to increase economic losses for Russia following its illegal invasion of Ukraine with the support of Belarus, applying an additional duty of 35% on all imports,” the statement said.

“This decision follows a joint statement by Australia with other members of the World Trade Organization, who condemn Russia's actions and undertake to take measures to protect our core security interests,” the Australian government said.

The new tariffs will take effect on April 25.

The Australian government has also said it will provide $ 91 million in aid to Ukraine, including $ 65 million in humanitarian aid and 70,000 tons of coal.
