Ambassador Melnyk plans to return to Kyiv – Bild

A diplomat can get a position in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

Ukrainian diplomat Andrii Melnyk plans to resign from the post of ambassador in Berlin and may take a position in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, writes Bild.

Information about the ambassador's plans was confirmed to journalists by several sources in Kyiv. Melnyk can become the deputy minister of foreign affairs.

“This proposal was made by the ministry to the president of Ukraine. Andrii Melnyk is highly valued for his work,” said a representative of the Ukrainian government.

According to the source, the move from Berlin may take place by autumn. The ministry does not comment on the information about Melnyk's move, journalists were unable to contact the diplomat.

Melnyk has been in Berlin for eight years, although ambassadors usually stay in office for no more than four. And he is one of the “hawks” of Ukrainian diplomacy.
