Most enemy troops are concentrated in the area between Zaporozhye, Kherson, Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk region and north of Crimea, to the coast of the Sea of Azov.
Currently, the invaders have stationed 106 operational battalions in Ukraine -tactical groups. These troops are grouped by geographical criteria, they have eastern, central, western and southern directions. The largest group is in the south, with more than 50 BTGs attached to it, according to the Pentagon's official website.
They are concentrated between Kherson on the west and Mariupol on the east. Also from Zaporizhia from the north, where they occupied the nuclear power plant, to Velyka Novosilka (Donetsk region).
“So if you draw a conditional oval – between Velyka Novosilka, Zaporizhia, Kherson, all the way to the north of Crimea, the coast of the Sea of Azov, you have mostly this southern [battalion-tactical] group. It is here that they have the largest troops. That's why it's geographically dispersed, “said an unnamed Pentagon official. What equipment, readiness for hostilities, and what losses – this data is not currently available. However, it can be stated that it is not necessary to talk about a sharp increase in the presence of Russian troops in the south.
“They really didn't add much [personnel]. When we talked about about 105 BTGs on Friday, another such battalion tactical group was added. So there is no sharp increase. ”
The Russians increased their troops the day before, after retreating from Kyiv. There has been some re-equipment, replenishment and the return of troops.
“We know they are still losing. They continue to lose equipment and systems in battle every day. Now in Donbass dynamic struggle. Every day [the front line moves, recedes] back and forth, and it cannot be said that the Russians have not made any progress. They have achieved. Again, it was uneven, slow, gradual, short and small, but they continued to progress a little, ”he said. Then in most operational areas the occupier exhausted its attacking groups and moved to the defense.
