What cannot be published on social networks about military actions under the new law

On March 24, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed Law №7189 , which restricts the right of the population to publish certain data on hostilities on social networks. The details of the new law were reminded by the First Lady of Ukraine Elena Zelenskaya.

What is now strictly forbidden to publish on social networks:

  • missiles that are flying or hitting somewhere;
  • street names, transport stops, shops, factories;
  • relocation of Ukrainian military, military facilities;
  • air defense work;
  • places of shelling or projectile hit;
  • addresses, visual reference or battle coordinates;
  • car numbers, armored vehicles;
  • victims or dead (except official data).

Any violation of these rules, even if committed accidentally, will be punishable by imprisonment.

“The minimum is 3 years, the maximum is 8 years. If for selfish motives and by prior agreement – from 8 to 12 years, “- warned Zelenskaya.
