Signals of violations at the Odessa customs are ignored by the leadership of the Customs Service in Kyiv.
After the martial law was abolished customs payments, customs officers of Odessa customs mentioned an old way of earning money – they deliberately delay registration, hinting that it is necessary to agree with them. At the same time, importers are required to pay $ 500-1000 per container. This was reported by Avia Cargo, which refused to pay, Business Censor reports.
One of the company's executives explained: “The head of the Odessa customs Zakolodyazhny ordered the head of the Euroterminal post Dmytro Dzenvaliuk to keep our containers as long as possible and do 100% care with sorting goods by items, and some declarations had from 100 to 200 items. After writing the inspection report (which takes 2 to 6 days), the customs officers sent a request to the tariff department. After passing all the stages, the previously submitted declaration had to be withdrawn and re-submitted according to the care act. All this lasted for many days. As an alternative to simplifying the customs clearance process, Zenvaluk offered to pay a bribe of $ 1,000 for a container of shoes and $ 500 for a container of other goods. We refused. “
In the end, the entire cargo was destroyed by a Russian missile.
This is just one story, as this corrupt scheme also works at Western customs, through which humanitarian aid enters Ukraine. Importers collect hundreds of dollars for a car, container, etc.
Numerous complaints from importers go unanswered and unanswered, as the same people demand bribes and accept complaints from those who do not want to give them. In the case of Avia Cargo, the complaint was accepted by the head of the Zakolodyazhny customs office, who ordered an artificial delay in customs clearance. Signals of violations at the Odessa customs are ignored by the leadership of the Customs Service in Kiev.
