Wall on the border with Belarus: Poland plans to complete the project by mid-July

Last year, Poland and the Baltic countries accused Belarus and Russia of creating an artificial migration crisis on their border.

Polish border guards promise to complete the < construction of a wall with a length of almost 300 km. The leadership of the Border Guard Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Poland reported this in the Seimas, Ukrinform reports.

“We are waiting for completion on July 15… We have extended (contracts with subcontractors – ed.) for objective geological reasons, which appeared during the installation of the piles,” noted the deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Maciej Wonsik.

The builders still have 7 kilometers of barriers to lay.

The head of the Polish Border Guard Tomasz Praga assumed that after the construction of the walls is illegal migrants will try to get to Poland from other directions, in particular from the territory of Lithuania or Ukraine. “Although I would expect that there would be a smaller number of people from Ukraine, because the Ukrainian side is very protective of this border,” he stated.
