Vučić stated that Serbia will not locate Russian military bases on its territory

Belgrade seeks to maintain military neutrality.

From the very beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine Serbia supported the aggressor country and refused to apply European sanctions against it. However, in military matters, Belgrade wishes to maintain neutrality, so it is not going to locate Russian or any other foreign bases in Serbia, as has been repeatedly reported in the media. President Aleksandr Vucic said this, B92 writes.

According to the politician, his position regarding the placement of a foreign military contingent on the territory of his state is firm and unchanging. Vucic believes that Serbia does not need any help and can defend itself.

“Serbia does not need any foreign military bases, Serbia will defend itself and its people, it it will build alliances itself and will not be ashamed of good relations with Russia, the USA or China. We will take care of ourselves,” said Vucic.

He emphasized that there are only three ways to build foreign military bases in Serbia during the next 5 years while he is in office.

“Either I will be replaced in office, or my mandate will end, or I will die or be killed. Otherwise, it is impossible to force me to deprive Serbia of its military neutrality,” the president categorically concluded.
