The Day of Victory over Nazism in the Second World War was established as a national holiday after the adoption on April 9, 2015 by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of Law № 2539 “On Perpetuating the Victory over Nazism in the Second World War 1939-1945”.

Approximately 2.2 million people were deported to forced labor in Nazi Germany, and 10 million lost their homes. 700 urban-type towns and villages, almost 30,000 villages, were completely destroyed.

The symbol of Russian aggression has become the letter Z, reminiscent of the Nazi swastika, the use of which has already been banned in European countries.

The Russian military is shelling cities and neighborhoods, killing civilians. The occupiers become looters and commit atrocities in the cities they temporarily occupy. There are new data on mass graves in which the bodies of Ukrainians who were tortured and then killed by the Russian military are buried.
