Ukrainians will be able to issue foreign and domestic passports at the same time – Shmygal

The government hopes that the innovation will minimize the time required to obtain passports under martial law.

On Saturday, May 7, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a pilot project for the simultaneous issuance of a passport of a citizen of Ukraine and a passport. This is stated on the website of the Cabinet.

“We continue to make public services convenient and fast for citizens, even in wartime. We have approved a pilot project that will allow Ukrainians to issue foreign and domestic passports at the same time,” said the Prime Minister.

Shmygal stressed that the innovation will minimize the time spent on obtaining or restoring documents, which is especially important in martial law.

The draft of the Cabinet of Ministers states that the purpose of the document is to improve the provision of administrative services in the field of migration and minimize the time to obtain passports in the conditions of imposition and continuation of martial law.
