In the first week of Russia's invasion, Windco Flags from Portugal sold about 50 Ukrainian flags, after which even more orders appeared. The flags were first bought by the region's administrations, but were soon sought after by school principals, shops and ordinary people.

The American company Symonds Flags and Poles, based in Irving, Texas, never made Ukrainian flags before the start of a full-scale war in Ukraine. But now the company has felt the need to produce blue and yellow flags.

“We currently sell more Ukrainian flags than Texas flags,” said sales manager Christina Farrell.
