Zelensky noted that despite the long-term occupation and the aggressor's statement that he will allegedly stay in Kherson Oblast forever, the residents of the region have kept many blue and yellow flags.
“Today we all feel elation together. I don't know if there is at least one of us who has not yet watched the video of our Kherson people meeting the Ukrainian defenders. Months of Russian occupation, months of abuse of our people, months of stories that Russia is there seemingly forever… But still, there is a sea of Ukrainian flags on the streets. People didn't even think of renouncing Ukraine,” the president noted.
He emphasized that now the world is watching all these events and sees that for Ukrainians means the return of his people. The international community understands what the unity of Ukrainians means, and why our defenders must liberate their entire territory from the Russian army.
“We will see many more such meetings. In those cities and villages that are still under occupation. We will not forget anyone, we will not leave anyone behind. Thanks to our defense operations and diplomacy, we will definitely go to our state border – to all areas internationally recognized border of Ukraine,” Zelensky assured.
