Ukraine received the first batch of aid from Europe to repair energy infrastructure

The first batch of emergency equipment from Europe arrived in Ukraine to repair energy infrastructure damaged by Russia's war against Ukraine. The supply was coordinated by the Secretariat of the Energy Community, Interfax-Ukraine reports, citing a statement from the EU Secretariat.

“The Secretariat is doing everything in its power to help preserve light in Ukraine. The delivered equipment will help protect access to energy for its people,” said Arthur Lorkowski, Director of the EU Secretariat.

The group of the Secretariat for Support of Ukraine is forming assistance according to the list of urgent requests of companies-operators of critical energy infrastructure compiled by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

The Secretariat of the Energy Community is also preparing additional supplies to Ukraine.

“Supplies on this list from Norway, Spain and Switzerland, coordinated by the Secretariat, are almost ready to be shipped. The Secretariat is working with its partners to deliver additional materials from Italy, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Latvia, the Netherlands and other countries.” – added in the message.

Supplies of equipment are also facilitated by the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers, and logistics are organized within the framework of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
