Ukraine and Turkey are preparing to launch joint production of aircraft engines – Zelenskyi

Ukraine is also planning to create a base for building ships.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyi reported about the the Hetman Ivan Mazepa corvette, the construction of which began in 2021, was launched in Turkey. He emphasized that the government's goal is to create a suitable base in Ukraine for the construction and maintenance of ships.

“We are preparing to create a training center and factory of the Baikar company in Ukraine, as well as joint production of aircraft engines. Mandatory we will implement these projects as well. Ukraine has always been and will be one of the European centers of the military and aviation industry. And I am proud to be able to say these words with confidence and justification based on the results of 221 days of Russia's full-scale war against our country,” the president said in an evening video message .

Zelensky also added that the head of the president's office, Andriy Yermak, visited the facilities of the Baikar company, which manufactures, in particular, the well-known Bayraktars. Yermak presented the chairman of the company's board of directors, Senchuk Bayraktar, with the Order of Merit, which was awarded to him on the anniversary of Ukraine's independence.
