Two countries suspended the issuance of visas to Russians

It is not known when the work of the consulates will be resumed.

On Friday, Bulgaria and Latvia suspended the issuance visa to the Russians. In particular, Bulgaria adopted countermeasures in response to the expulsion of 14 Bulgarian diplomats from the Russian Federation.

As reported by the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), the Consulate General of Bulgaria was temporarily closed in Yekaterinburg. The Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Russia has stopped working. The Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Varna and the consular service of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bulgaria have partially closed.

The acceptance of applications for issuing visas to Russians to Latvia has also been suspended for an indefinite period.

“The Embassy of Latvia in Russia for an indefinite period the acceptance of applications for obtaining visas for citizens of the Russian Federation, except for participation in the funeral of a close relative, has been suspended,” the department said in a statement.

Previously Estonia stopped issuing visas and residence permits for studies to Russians. The visa regime for citizens of the Russian Federation in Ukraine began to operate on July 1.
