The Chancellor of Germany believes that opponents of the regime should be able to escape from Russia.

Scholz said that although it is possible to hold a debate at the European level on the ban on the entry of Russian tourists, it is important “not to make life difficult for opponents of the Kremlin” so that they could leave Russia.
“It is important for us to understand that many people are fleeing Russia because they do not agree with the Russian regime. All the decisions we make should not make it difficult to leave the country, to avoid the leadership and dictatorship in Russia,” the chancellor emphasized after meeting with the leaders of the Northern European countries in Oslo.
Leaders of several European countries, including the present at a meeting with the Prime Minister of Finland Sanna Marin, called to ban Russian tourists from entering the EU, so that they also bear responsibility for Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
