As the equipment stops, the military comes out and burns the flag of Ukraine, ”says Olya Simonova.
She recalls that the occupiers immediately started shelling all the communication towers. They started to take away SIM cards, many of them took away their phones. One of Ola Simonova's phones was also shot.
“It simply came to our notice then. They were audacious, greedy. They robbed all the shops. Where there was a lattice, they tied it to BRDMs, tore it down, went to the store, and then distributed everything as their humanitarian, ”said the psychologist.
Olya Simonova added that the occupiers came up with the idea of ”lifting us off our knees.” They were sure that they would take Kyiv in three days.
“Then they said: get ready, on the 12th we will take Kyiv, then on the 16th. They believed in this holiday. Everyone was looking for Bandera and Shukhevych. Olya Simnova recalls that there were many wounded in the town. Among them is a girl named Dasha, who was covered by her grandfather. They fled and were fired upon. Dasha's father was killed in the car in front of her. Dasha said: “They come to me and laugh:” Purpose, purpose, purpose. ” The priest brought the girl to the hospital where Ola Simonova's mother worked, and she and her husband volunteered. Dasha went out there.
