The White House confirmed Biden's participation in the G20 summit and announced visits to Egypt and Cambodia

Biden will work with G20 partners to address key global issues.

President of the United States Joe Biden will visit Egypt, Cambodia and Indonesia, where he will take part in summits scheduled for November. This was announced in the White House, VOA informs.

In particular, Biden will go to Egypt to participate in the UN climate change summit COP27 on November 11, where he will call on the world to act “in this crucial decade”.

Biden will then be in Cambodia on Nov. 12-13 to participate in the annual US-ASEAN Summit and East Asia Summit, the White House said in a statement. After that, the US president will visit Indonesia on November 13-16 to participate in the G20 leaders' summit.

White House press secretary Karin Jean-Pierre said that Biden will use COP27 to “advance the important work that the United States conducted to support the global fight against climate change and help the most vulnerable population groups to gain resilience to the effects of climate change.”

In Cambodia, Biden will reaffirm the United States' continued commitment to Southeast Asia, while emphasizing the importance of US-ASEAN cooperation in achieving security and prosperity in the region, Jean-Pierre said.

In Bali, Indonesia, Biden will work with partners with the G20 to address key issues such as climate change, the global impact of Russia's war against Ukraine, including energy and food security, and a number of other priorities important to the global economic recovery, the White House said.

US Vice President Kamala Harris will also visit Asia and North Africa after the president's visit. Harris will travel to Bangkok to attend the November 18-19 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation leaders meeting, underscoring Washington's commitment to economic cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.

She will also travel to Manila where she will meet with government leaders and representatives of civil society, the White House reported.

It is expected that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin < strong>are to attend this year's G20 summit in Indonesia. However, there is no official confirmation yet.

A multilateral forum on the island in November will gather the leaders of the world's 20 largest economies, as well as guest countries such as the UAE and Ukraine.
