The VAKS judge unjustifiably suspended the Granovsky chief detective from the case. Hit the reputation of the entire court

Vitaly Shabunin explained what was wrong with the suspension of the detective.

in the case of former People's Deputy Oleksandr Granovskyi, the head of the Anti-Corruption Center Vitaliy Shabunin said. Granovskyi is suspected of organizing a corruption scheme of JSC “Odesa Port Plant”, which caused damage to the enterprise in the amount of UAH 93.3 million.

“It's time to tell about a specific flight of one of the judges. He burned himself in the case of the main decision-maker of the previous government – People's Deputy Oleksandr Granovskyi. Judge Voronko removed the chief detective from the case based on the “arguments” by which any detective, prosecutor or judge can be thrown out of any case,” Shabunin noted.

He added that according to the text of the decision , the detective's bias allegedly lies in poor communication with the prosecutor. Or in the rejection of defense requests, where the court did not agree with the detective.

“The funniest thing is that Voronko writes in the decision that he does not see the interest of the detective, but still removes him from the case. And this decision is not subject to appeal. This is very reminiscent of the rotten practice of unjustified removal from cases of effective detectives/prosecutors, which corrupt judges used before the creation of the Central Committee of the Central Committee of Ukraine,” the head of the Central Committee added.

Shabunin explained that such a decision by judge Voronka damages the reputation of the entire VAKS.

“At Bankova, a natural question is: why is our VAKS being demolished, and the decision from the previous government being smeared? Dear VAKS judges, Voronko framed all of you with this abomination in the interests of Granovsky. With this decision, he makes the protection of the institution much more difficult,” concluded Shabunin.

Recall that in October, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau informed the People's Deputy of the 8th convocation about the suspicion of a corruption scheme that cost the state 93.3 million UAH. NABU did not name the suspect, but according to StateWatch chairman Oleksandr Lemenov, he turned out to be a former deputy from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, Oleksandr Granovskyi. The actions of the suspect were classified under Part 3 of Article 27, Part 2 of Article 28 and Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the deputy organized a scheme according to which “Odesa Port Plant” sold mineral fertilizers to a predetermined company at prices lower than market prices. This company then resold the goods to foreign companies in the real sector of the economy at competitive prices. However, these companies were physically supplied by OPZ. The scheme operated during March-December 2015.
