The UN General Assembly has called on Russia to end its full-scale invasion of Ukraine

The General Assembly criticized the aggressor country for creating a “difficult” humanitarian situation in Ukraine.

The UN General Assembly supported Resolution A / ES-11 / L.2, which blames Russia for the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine and called for an immediate ceasefire, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

It is noted that the resolution was supported by 140 countries. At the same time, 38 countries abstained, and five more voted against.

Russia, Belarus, North Korea, Eritrea and Syria are among those who voted against. Abstaining countries include Algeria, Angola, Armenia, Bolivia, Central Asia, China, Cuba, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, South Africa, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Uzbekistan, Sudan, Tajikistan and others.

The resolution, proposed by France and Mexico, reaffirms Ukraine's commitment to “sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity” and condemns Russia's military aggression in the country. The draft resolution calls on Russia to cease hostilities, withdraw its troops immediately and return to dialogue.

The General Assembly also called for assistance and protection for civilians.
