Ukrainian pharmaceutical company Darnitsa has won a tender and signed an agreement with The United Nations-authorized Medicines Patent Pool to obtain a license to manufacture Pfizer anti-cancer drugs. This was announced by the executive director of “Darnitsa” Dmitry Shimkiv on Facebook and the press service of The Medicines Patent Pool.
Now the Ukrainian company has the right to develop and manufacture a generic version of the oral antidote to Pfizer nirmatrelvir (nirmatrelvir) in combination with a low dose of ritonavir (nirmatrelvir; ritonavir).

The company became the first and only in Ukraine to receive the right to produce such a drug from COVID-19 “for Ukrainian patients and health professionals, as well as for the whole region.”
The Medicines Patent Pool also noted that Darnitsa will be able to supply drugs for coronavirus infection not only within Ukraine, but also in 95 low- and middle-income countries. A total of 36 companies operating in 13 countries have such a license.
