The trial of Putin and Lukashenko is planned to be called the Kharkov tribunal – Mammadov

The creation of such a tribunal will bring the perpetrators to justice as much as possible.

Суд над Путином и Лукашенко планируют назвать Харьковским трибуналом – Мамедов

The fact of Russia's aggression against Ukraine should be considered by a special tribunal, following the example of the Nuremberg tribunal, in order to bring to justice as many officials of Belarus and Russia responsible for crimes in Ukraine, said former Deputy Prosecutor General Gunduz Mammadov.

The expert noted that the actions of the leadership of both Russia and Belarus show signs of war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide. These crimes, Mammadov explained, are being investigated by the International Criminal Court, and the presidents of these countries may also be indicted.

“If we talk about the President of the Russian Federation and the President of Belarus, I think the investigative team of prosecutors of the International Criminal Court will pay due attention to all these types of crimes committed in our territory,” Mammadov said in an interview with Dmitry Gordon.

If we talk about the very fact of aggression, then, as Mammadov explained, “it's a little harder there,” and a specially created institute should deal with this process.

He reminded that a special petition had been created on the Avaaz website to convene a tribunal for Russian President Vladimir Putin, and anyone could sign it.

“We are proposing to call it the Kharkiv Tribunal. And I believe in its creation. If I had not believed, I would not have done it. You just have to believe here and be persistent,” he said when asked if such a tribunal is really over. Putin and Lukashenko can be realized.

It will be recalled that on March 16, the UN International Court of Justice in The Hague ruled on Russia in the case of Russia's genocide in Ukraine and called for an immediate end to the military operations that began in Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

In turn , Russia replied that it was not going to comply with the decision of the Hague tribunal.
